Company background
The company is a producer and publisher of electronic, computerized multimedia products. Its main areas of activity are electronic publishing and the development of multimedia technological solutions (with emphasis on 3D and SVG applications) for a wide range of needs. RIDEMO also specializes in the production of Internet home pages supporting interactive navigation, vivid and individual artistic design, and innovative approaches toward technological applications. 

R&D activities of RIDemo puts it among the leading IT R&D organizations in the Baltic region. It has been the first company to integrate virtual reality applications in multimedia products in Latvia and carry out research on spatial enhancement of web interfaces. The latter R&D undertaking of RIDemo resulted in VIRMUS project - 5FP IST trial "Virtual Museum" (Contract Number IST-2000-28507). It focuses on application of novel technology of 3DML to cultural heritage content representation on-line. 
VIRMUS is significant also due to the fact that it is the first IST trial project coordinated by a Latvian party. The status of the "first-ever" has provided fertile ground for dissemination of RIDemo's R&D activities on the national and regional level. 

RIDemo is the largest and most experienced company in Latvia in its area of the market. It has a remarkable experience in publishing of digital content for educational and tourist applications. The company was the first in the Baltic region to produce an educational CD-ROM "Money & Financial Institutions" commissioned by the Bank of Latvia. RIDEMO also created the official Riga City Guide commisioned by the Riga City Council. Programmers of RIDEMO have participated in various large scale projects aimed at setting up and improving computer communication applications in schools and local municipalities across the country.
