Salzburg Research is a non-profit research organisation fully owned by
the State of Salzburg (Austria). It focuses on application oriented research and development in the areas of information and communication
technologies (ICT) and New Media. Specific application areas include
eCulture, eTourism, and eContent.
International, national, and regional research projects in co-operation
with industrial and academic partners contribute to the economic success
and the competitive advantages for tomorrow - to the benefit of the citizens and the economy of
Salzburg, Austria, and Europe.
The combination of socio-economic strategy and market research with technical laboratories and testing installations as well as
target-oriented trainings and market development account for the
strength of Salzburg Research. Main Activities include:
- Application-oriented research & development in the areas of information and communication technologies
(ICT), Internet and
multimedia
- Socio-economic studies of the information society and economy
- Consultant for the ICT-industry
- Research and project management
- Design and implementation of (conceptual) software prototypes
- Know-how transfer by means of educational and vocational training
programmes as well as workshops and conferences
- Dissemination management.
